Among the natural springs in Kharga oasis the
most famous are:
- Ain

el Teir; there are the ruins of a Christian burial chapel, a barrel-vaulted
tomb and a Christian church;
- Ain

- Ain

- Ain
Tafnis: what is unusual about this spring is that it is 260 meters (832 feet)
above sea level and 180 meters (576 feet) above the desert below, while usually
most of the springs in the oases lie on the floor of the depression, close to
sea level (our-egypt.com 2012; Vivian 1990).
